BAILIFF - Officer of the court who is responsible for keeping order in the courtroom.
 
BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD - In regards to child support, visitation, and custody the judge uses this discretionary standard to decide what he thinks is best.
 
BIGAMY - An illegal act in when someone is married before their previous marriage has been completely terminated.
 
BILL OF PARTICULARS - Includes all of the information that comes with a petition or a complaint.
 
BLOOD TEST - A blood drawing process from the child and the parents to determine if the DNA matches.
 
BRIEF - A written report given to the court outlining the positions of each side.
 
BURDEN OF PROOF - The spouse must provide evidence to the court for any claims that they make against the opposing spouse.
