Divorce

Question:

How do you get a divorce from your husband when you don't know where he is and haven't seen him in over15yrs and there are no children between us or anything to split? (FL)

State:
Florida
Answer:

Florida is a no-fault divorce state and you can simply file for a divorce by stating that the marriage is irretrievably "broken" and that there is no chance of reconciliation. Without children or a large estate to split, the divorce is unlikely to be contested in any way. Go online and check out the State of Florida's "Divorce Guide." The state offers online information and resources for families in divorce situations at www.stateofflorida.com. - The Divorce.com Team Wendy Jaffe and Divorce.com can only provide general information about divorce. DO NOT RELY ON MS. JAFFE'S ADVICE ALONE. Before acting on information provided by Ms. Jaffe or by Divorce.com, talk to an attorney first about your particular facts and the law of your state. By submitting your question to Divorce.com, you are not creating an attorney/client relationship with Ms. Jaffe or with any of the other attorneys listed on this site.
