Divorce and moving

My brother and sister in law are in the midst of getting a divorce. She is talking about moving the three kids to long island. They currently live on Staten Island. Is there a mile limitation as to where a spouse can move?

Your brother should speak to the court if the distance to the new residence will present a significant hardship and obstacle to visitation. Some jurisdictions consider anything under 150-100 miles to be "local" and others do not specify any set distance but evaluate each visitation circumstance individually.
