DIVORCE/PREGNANCY

Question:

I am about 10 weeks pregnant. Can I get divorced while pregnant? How does this affect child support or do i have to
wait until after the child is born to get divorced. I live in Texas.

State:
Texas
Answer:

You can get divorced any time you like and it does not hinge upon when the child is born. What matters more is that the child is proven to be your husband's kid and there is no question of paternity. If you expect to receive child support, the father will probably want to know that he is paying for his own child and not someone else's. Be prepared to prove this fact to the court. - The Divorce.com Team
