Spousal support

Question:

What do I need to do to request spousal support or child support for a 20 year old child in college?

State:
Michigan
Answer:

In Michigan, child support is calculated using the Michigan Child Support Formula. Child support is payable until a child reaches the age of eighteen, or until the age of 19-1/2 if the child is still a full-time student. Since the child in question is 20 years old, you will have to create an agreement between ex-spouses to provide additional support for college education. - The Divorce.com Team
